VRA Coach
Mission
We're on a mission to help one million people go full-time on YouTube — and this role is where that mission actually gets delivered.
As a VRA Coach, you're not supporting the work from the sidelines. You are the work. You'll carry your own roster of creators, diagnose what's holding their channel back, and walk with them until the strategy turns into views, subscribers, and income. When a member finally cracks their packaging and their next video does 10x their average, you'll be the person who saw it coming and got them there.
Â
Native Genius
You get more satisfaction from someone else's breakthrough than from your own.
You've built something on YouTube yourself, and somewhere along the way you realized you love the diagnostic part most — looking at a channel, seeing exactly where the bottleneck is, and knowing what to say to unlock it. You're the person friends send their thumbnails to. You've probably already coached people informally and thought, "I'd do this all day."
You're also unusually comfortable carrying a lot of people at once. A roster of twenty-five to thirty creators doesn't sound overwhelming to you — it sounds like a full, meaningful week. You keep track of who's stuck on what without needing to be reminded, and you know the difference between a creator who needs encouragement and one who needs to be told the truth.
You move fast. When you're handed a system, you learn it, run it, and start delivering — you don't need three months of ramp before you're useful to a client.

Competencies
Â
YouTube Strategy
- You are a creator who has had success on your own YouTube channel. You have at least 1,000 subscribers and can point to specific results you drove.
- You can scan a YouTube channel and immediately start seeing room for improvement.
- You can look at a channel's analytics and tell the difference between a packaging problem, a topic problem, and a retention problem.Â
- You're genuinely obsessed with YouTube strategy. You watch what's changing on the platform because you can't help it.
- Being a Video Ranking Academy member is preferred but not required. If you're not one yet, you'll complete the program and be fluent in the system before you're assigned your first client.
Â
Business & Monetization Literacy
- You understand that for many of our members, YouTube is a client acquisition channel — not the product. You can coach toward that.
- You have working knowledge of how funnels operate: how a video leads to a lead magnet, an email list, a call booking, or a sale. You don't need to build funnels, but you need to know how the pieces connect so you can tell a member where their channel is breaking down versus where their business is.
- You can speak intelligently about the different ways creators make money — services and coaching, digital products, sponsorships, affiliate, ad revenue, local lead generation — and help a member choose the path that fits what they're actually building.
- You know the difference between a content problem and an offer problem, and you're honest with members when it's the second one.
Â
Coaching Craft
- You can hold a coaching call and leave the creator with clarity and a next action, every single time.
- You ask better questions than you give answers. You diagnose before you prescribe.
- You can tell someone their thumbnail isn't working, or that they've been avoiding the hard thing for six weeks.
- You know how to hold people accountable without babysitting them.
- You adapt your approach — a 500-subscriber beginner and a 50,000-subscriber creator need very different things from you.
Â
Capacity & Speed to Ramp
- You can carry 25–30 active relationships without dropping people or letting anyone go quiet.
- You know how to protect your calendar so coaching time stays coaching time.
- You learn systems fast. Given a framework and a few examples, you're running it independently in days, not months.
- You proactively reach out to the members who've gone quiet instead of waiting for them to surface.
Â
Systems & Organization
- You log everything. Client notes, action items, and progress live in our CRM — not in your head.
- You can use project management tools to keep a large roster organized and prioritized.
- You don't get overwhelmed by volume. You find the system that makes it doable.
- You have an incredible attention to detail.
Â
Communication
- You write clearly and effectively. Your written channel audits and action plans are specific enough that a creator could execute them without you in the room.
- You're comfortable on camera and on Zoom, running a call with a group or one-on-one.
- You represent Think Media well in public community spaces.
Â
Ownership
- You take responsibility for your members' outcomes, not just your activity. Calls held is an input; creator growth is the point.
- You take ownership of your tasks and make sure they get done no matter what.
- You raise problems early. When a member is at risk, the team hears about it from you first.
Â
Â
What You'll Own
Coaching Delivery
- Carry a roster of 25–30 active VRA members and own the coaching relationship with each of them
- Conduct channel audits and produce written action plans with specific, prioritized next steps and links to the relevant Think Media courses, tools, and resources
- Run one-on-one and group coaching calls over Zoom
- Track each member's progress against their goals and adjust the plan when it isn't working
- Proactively re-engage members who go quiet or fall behind
Â
Community
- Actively participate in the VRA Elite community and Facebook group — answer questions, nurture conversation, and build real relationships with members
- Host a weekly VRA Elite coaching callÂ
Â
Client Records & Reporting
- Keep detailed, current notes on every member — questions, goals, obstacles, wins
- Surface trends and recurring roadblocks to the team so we can improve the program itself
- Flag at-risk members early
Â
This Role Is Probably Not for You If…
- You want to build your own channel full-time and see this as a side income. This is a full-time coaching role.
- You'd rather execute tasks than own relationships and outcomes.
- You need a long ramp before you feel ready to talk to a client.
- You avoid hard conversations.
- You think about YouTube purely in terms of views and subscribers. Many of our members are measuring leads and revenue.
- Carrying thirty people's goals sounds exhausting rather than energizing.
